I need a marketing guy )īonus track: I was recently interviewed by IGN India and got to mention Condor. If they are similar, you may have connected it and then choose tether > ethernet. #Trinus vr usb tethering for androidįter playing around for a few days with Google Cardboard I definitely started to see the potential of phone-based VR but unfortunately the available games/apps on the Play Store were all rather short and restricted, seeming more like demos than full-blown VR experiences, so when I found that you can stream PC games in VR to your phone mode by using the simple yet smart Trinus Gyre software, I immediately tested it out with System Shock 2.Īfter downloading the Trinus Gyre client app for Android and the Windows server, the first thing I did was set up a USB tethering connection, since the default Wi-Fi connection left much to be desired in terms of stability and speed.Īnother hurdle was that in order to stream 3D games from my laptop to Android with Trinus, they have to be running in windowed mode. But when you go into the Trinus client, it says that there is no connection. Oh course you need to have the drivers installed in Windows going to network devices you see that the cable for the tether is unplugged. After looking in vain for any in-game settings, I came up with the following solutions: Running System Shock 2 in windowed mode #Trinus vr usb tethering drivers I’m using the GOG version of System Shock 2 and the easiest way to run it in windowed mode is to edit the cam_ext.cfg file in your main game folder and remove the semi-colon from line 43 before “force_windowed” so it reads as follows:Īfter uncommenting that line, System Shock now runs in windowed mode and is ready to be streamed in stereoscopic vision to your Android device.Īnother solution to run System Shock 2 (or any game for that matter) in windowed mode is by using this little tool called DXWnd. You sir, are a genius! =) Apparently, it doesn't like cutscenes or going back to the menu when you die.Simply add the game to the list and run it through the tool. its the same program of course, for some reason i was thinking you changed it, but like you said, all you did was "roughly" translate the in-program texts. I downloaded your version of the program NV. But the game seems to run fine in windowed mode with the Japanese version initially Sorry guys, I guess i should stop trying to act like i know what im talking about when in fact i dont, and it makes me look like a douche. I guess if things were actually in english that would help. also, when it gets back to the menu, i hear the audio, but again, i see nothing but blackness. whenever i die, the "death movie" doesnt show i hear the audio, but the screen is black. That is why I said stick with the Japanese one that works well. But like I said, feel free to just say "f**k you ill do it the way i want" basically. Yeah I did, but based off what I read from previous posts, it appears ya'll are having trouble with the "English" one. Its contents should be more or less like this: Now there should be file called hook.ini in that directory where you did extract program files. Reopen settings dialog and unselect that previosly selected option. Just select whichever option in that dialog and press OK. However there is workaround for this problem. Unfortunately texts in this program is written in japanese, so there is no way to determine which options do what. If you want modify your programs window emulation settings, you need to first select your program in that list and press middle icon in location 3. From left to right : Pressing this icon runs program This icon opens settings window This icon opens Windows Explorer in that directory where selected program lies.Pressing minus-icon when program name is selected in list box removes it. Press plus-icon to add program which you want to run in windowed mode.Press play-icon to activate window emulation and stop-icon deactivate it.Eh, I thought that I just did post usage instructions in simplest form.Īnyway, here is picture and some more instructions for rest of you.
